The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) confirmed earlier this week that there are two cases of Coronavirus in Clay County. On May 6, the Clay County Health Department confirmed the first case, and the second one shortly thereafter.
The department has started a case investigation and contact tracings, but as of Monday, May 11, no further cases have been confirmed. There have been 380 negative test results received so far.
“Please continue to follow social distancing guidelines including staying home when possible, frequent hand washing/using sanitizer, avoiding touching your face and eyes, and following the CDC’s and West Virginia DHHR’s guidelines to help prevent spread,” states a Clay County Health Department post. “Please contact the health department with any questions at 304-587-4269.”
