The Clay County Detachment of the West Virginia State Police in conjunction with the Commission on Drunk Driving Prevention will be conducting a sobriety check point on Friday, September 15, 2023,starting at 8 p.m. and concluding at 2 a.m.
The checkpoint will be set up in Big Otter on WV Route 16 underneath the Interstate 79 overpass at the Big Otter exit.
The purpose of this checkpoint is to deter impaired drivers, as well as to educate the public about the dangers of driving an automobile while impaired by alcohol and/or drugs. We urge the motoring public to assist the State Police in their efforts to stop driving under the influence incidents by reporting impaired drivers.
