It’s been a true Cinderella story in Bomont, WV.
The Procious Bobcats Minor League Baseball Team showed up in tournament play with winning on their minds. After a rocky season of losses, they came together and showed how teamwork, dedication, and lots of practice could bring them out on top.
Between rained out practices and a field that was only half useable due to unforeseen issues that needed repaired, Procious made the best of what they were given to work with and strived to do their very best. After seeing what winning felt like, and understanding what it takes to win, they had a winning attitude for every game and strived to make it happen.
This group of young athletes were coached by Wesley Armes and Donald Taylor, who both say that you couldn’t have a better group of kids to work with. Armes said, “I could not have asked for a better game to be played for the minor league championship.” They walked away this season not only as champions, but with a new respect for the game.
Anytime a baseball game changes who’s on top a couple of times, you know it’s a good game. The game started out with Procious taking the lead. Lizemore then took it back in the 4th inning making the score 5-4, at the top of the 5th Procious was able to take the lead once again making it 6-5, holding on to that score until the bottom of the 5th, pulling off the win for that championship title. Congratulations Procious Bobcats!
