After suffering the loss against South Harrison last week, the Panthers needed a big win to get back on track before the season comes to a close. The Panthers definitely moved on this past week.  They were on the road Friday night in Calhoun to take on the Red Devils. One could see at the onset of the game that the Panthers were not about to lay down their arms and surrender. It was score as much as you can and take or give no quarter.  It was a great game and an offensive and defensive feeding frenzy for the Panthers as they held class on how to play football.  The defense dominated the field holding the Rebels to just 14 points.

Meanwhile, the offense pounded its way through the Red Devil line and scored a whopping 54 points, defeating Calhoun by the score of 54-14.  The Red Devils came into the game with the hope of getting their first win of the season by running the ball down the Panthers’ throat.  It just didn’t happen; it may have looked good on paper, but it was pounded down in Red Devil Field dirt.  The boys did a whale of a job running the ball; Seth Robinson got the call several times in the game and took the pig to the house more than once.  Let’s face it, when it comes to offense, it’s go big or go home most of the time for the Panthers.  The air show is always a fan favorite as Noah Collins puts it up for grabs.  His receivers were fast, usually got open quick and were moving the ball down the grid and scoring points. Jacoby Nichols, Joel Elliot and Kohan Ramsey were all over the field, and the Red Devil backfield had a difficult time finding them.

Those combinations racked up the offensive yards for the Panthers.   That being said, the offensive line opened holes in the Red Devil defensive line allowing them to get the ball down the field and score.   The Panthers will take their high scoring offense and try it out on the 1-5 Grafton Bearcats.  Don’t let their win-loss record fool you; the Bearcats have scored big point against some tough teams, so it will not be a cakewalk for the Panthers.  Come out and support the Panthers as they once again bring ground and pound to the gridiron.
