On Saturday April 29, starting at the Clay County High School, the Owen and Friends Operation Educate Autism Awareness 5k will be held.
Registration starts at 9 a.m., and the race starts at 10 a.m. Race categories are: runners ages 13-30, 31-50, and 51+. Walkers all ages.
There will be cash prizes for the winners. Over 30 different raffles will be at the race to try to win. Tickets are 1 for $1, 6 for $5 or an arm’s length for $10. You do not have to be present to win. All proceeds go to the Owen and Friends race fund. There will be free face painting, Lightening McQueen and Mater vehicles, a fire truck, and goodies for the kids.
If you ordered a T-shirt, they will be available for pick up at the race. The race should be over no later than noon. Weather looks to be perfect.
Please, come out and show your support for the special needs children in this county. The money this year will be used to buy sensory items for children with sensory issues to be used during their school day to help make their daily routines more sufficient and bearable. All Clay County schools will be receiving these items.
We are looking forward the this event and hope everyone will come show your support!
