The cause of the fire on July 25 that claimed the life of a Clendenin adult male remains under investigation at this time by West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office investigators.
The fire, which occurred on July 25th at approximately 3:00 P.M. involved two structures located on Jordan Creek Road. Initial calls to 911 indicated that a person was trapped in one of the homes and unable to escape. Fire departments from Clendenin and Pinch responded to the scene and found the victim after the fire was extinguished. They then contacted WVSFMO investigators to conduct an investigation.
The victim has been sent to the WV State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy and positive identification.
