On Thursday, July 9 Deputy Tyler Caruthers and Sgt. Robert Belt of the Clay County Sheriff’s Department traveled to a home in the Elkhurst area in search of a person with outstanding warrants. The homeowner and his brother in law gave the officers permission to search two homes. During the search, marijuana plants, items necessary to grow marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found in both homes. Both of the men were arrested and charged with a felony of intent to manufacture.
