When an emergency arises in the Lizemore area, the Lizemore ambulance service is always ready to respond to the call.
Not only do they respond in the Lizemore area, but Carver’s Fork, Bickmore to the Nicholas County line, Indore, and Lower Sycamore to Marne Ridge in Bomont. They have a large area to cover, along with responding the Clay area when they are out on a call.
The department has four paramedics, Christie Cliver, Kayla Neil, Aylene Johnston, and Alex Moore, and several EMT’s including Chrissy Foster, Owen Frye, Tony Long, Clarissa Pauley, Brooke Pauley, Brittany Stone, Jonathan Wilson, and Missy Friend on board. They will be adding another paramedic, Sam Snyder, in October.
The department was proud to show off their new ambulance at a hot dog appreciation dinner this past week. Fire Chief Justin Elliott and EMS Director Missy Friend couldn’t think of a better way to show their gratitude to the community and let them take a look at the newest addition. Missy says that without the community’s ongoing support they wouldn’t be where they are today, and they are extremely thankful. After several months of getting quotes and seeing ambulances, the Lizemore board of directors decided on the purchase in July 2018. The 2018 Chevy Frontline K3500 4×4 ambulance was purchased on August 21 from J&J Emergency Vehicles in Morgantown, WV.
While serving over 200 hotdogs, several came out to see the new vehicle and show their support. Medical Director Dr. Margaret Staggers and her husband were some of the first to view the new ambulance and have a hot dog that morning. With the ongoing support of the community the Lizemore Ambulance Service extends their gratitude and wants the community to know they are always ready to serve in their time of need.
