On Aug. 1, the Golden Delicious Festival committee met and voted on our new 2024 Golden Delicious Belle, who was honored at this year’s Golden Delicious Apple Festival. There were three nominations this year, and our 2024 Belle was named to be Mrs. Linda Williams. Linda was nominated by her granddaughter, Kari Scott.
Linda is from Maysel, WV, and has been a lifelong resident of Clay County. She is most deserving to serve as our Golden Delicious Belle.
Linda was born Feb. 12, 1949 to Earnest and Oleta Mullins Love of Pisgah. She was a graduate of Clay County High School, Class of 1967. After graduation, she attended Lorain Business College in Lorain, OH. She raised three children, Laura, Tammy, and Michael Hanshaw. She has five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She married Leonard Williams in 1995.
Linda has been a public servant to Clay County. She retired from Clay County Bank with 33 years of service. She loves to read a good Danielle Steel book,
enjoys camping, and loves to travel to see her grandchildren and go to festivals. She enjoys her garden flowers and canning.
Linda is most deserving! Congratulations to Linda, our 2024 Golden Delicious Apple Belle.
