The CCHS volleyball team is back with a vengeance.
In the last games of regular season, the Lady Panthers hosted Nitro and Braxton in a tri match. The Lady Panthers were playing in front of an almost full house, and that was good, because the Lady Panthers were playing like a championship team.
They doused the flames of Nitro in two straight games with superb playing of the courts. The Lady Panthers resurrected the Lady Panthers of old and proved once again that they are not to be messed with.
Braxton was up next, and after giving them the first game, the Lady Panthers went to work and beat the Lady Eagles in two straight. It was a good win leading into the Sectionals, where it will be a make or break situation. It will be double elimination, and if you’re not the sectional champs or runner up, your season is over. The Lady Panthers will be in action Wednesday night to start the sectionals. It would be nice to see them return to the regional championships and then back to the state competition.
This night was a sad one as well as the Lady Panthers said goodbye to the seniors. Lexi Woodyard, Sarah Boggs, and Carli Roat will be leaving the ranks and moving on to bigger things. Each one has played a pivotal role in the success of the Lady Panthers – they will be missed and have left their marks in the great halls of CCHS.
