Poseidon wants nothing more than for there to be calm in the sea, and peace and harmony for all sea creatures, but the pirates have a different agenda.
They are still angry with the mermaids and do not wish to get along, but they eventually come around to the idea of a calm sea in this year’s King’s Cove Aquatics performance. Clay County’s very own Terri King is proud to present her 2018 show filled with fun and excitement on Saturday, August 25, at the Clay County Pool beginning at 7 p.m. This performance is free to the public, with donations accepted, and visitors are advised to show up at 6:30 p.m. to insure parking and seating.
Terri King is a Clay County native, studying at WVU and at Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise in Los Angeles, CA. She returned home to WV to raise her 10 year old daughter, Tabitha King, in her hometown. Terri has been active in the past few years teaching dance to all local elementary schools during the after-school program. She will continue that program in the upcoming 2018-19 school year, also adding classes for the Clay County Middle School.
Terri’s daughter Tabitha has been swimming with a mermaid tail since she was five, and would show other children how to do so in hotel pools while traveling with her mom. Terri started working with the pool as a lifeguard and wanted to offer the kids of the community the opportunity to perform. “Watching these kids blossom over the years is very rewarding. They love to put on the costumes and perform, it makes it worth it all,” says King.
Don’t miss this great performance! Come out and watch as mini, sparkle, fairy, silky mermaids, sharks and pirates put on a water show that will make you feel like you are in an underwater adventure.
