H.E. White Students have been busy in December. Students are still going strong in the Walk Across America challenge. With a short month due to the Thanksgiving holiday, students pushed themselves even harder to make up the miles. The total number of miles walked so far by students is 1,603 miles. Kindergarten walked 59 miles and is in sixth place, second grade has walked 66 miles and is in fifth place, fifth grade has walked 69.5 miles and is in fourth place, first grade has walked 75 miles and is in third place, third grade has walked 80 miles and is in second place, and fourth grade is in the lead by walking an amazing 82.5 miles.

Six of H.E. White’s top spellers competed in the annual spelling bee held at Clay County High School on Friday, December 7. Twenty students from third through fifth grade from each grade school in the county came out to compete.
H.E. White snatched up the traveling spelling bee trophy, declaring them 2018 spelling bee champions. The trophy will be displayed in the school until the 2019 spelling bee. Fifth grade H.E. White student Katlyin Boggs walked away as the first place winner on Friday. Congratulations to all winners, and great job Pioneers!
