Sawyer Dobbins finished 17th at the WV State Championship Cross Country Meet this past Saturday at Cabell Midland High School in Ona, West Virginia. His time of 17:40 was a personal record for this course. He also set anew record at Clay County High Schoolbecoming the highest placing finisher at the WV State XC Meet. And while the WVSSAC only recognizes the top ten finishers as First Team All-State members, unofficially those who place eleven through twenty are Second Team All-State. Coaches Ron Starcher and Matt Stricker are proud of Sawyer and the CCHS boys and girls’ cross country teams. They worked hard all season, improved with each race, and had much success.
