For many years, people on the Lizemores side of Clay County have had so far to travel to be able to pick up a few groceries, toiletries, or something they couldn’t pick up at the local gas station.

Now, just across the county line, in Dixie, there is a Dollar General. Many have visited with excitement for the new to our area store. We now have a place that carries a good selection of frozen foods, canned goods, non-perishable food items where we can pick up a few things that are needed without having to drive 30-plus minutes to get to a grocery store or a Wal-Mart.

This past Saturday was their grand opening celebration. The first 50 customers  received a reusable Dollar General bag, a Dollar General cup and a $10 gift card, and the first 200 received the goodie bag with the Dollar General cup.

We in the community are excited for the new store in our area.
