The Clay County Commission met in regular session on Wednesday, November 28, at 10 a.m. at 246 Main Street, Clay, in the County Commission hearing room.
The minutes from the previous meeting were approved. The bills and purchase orders as presented were approved. Budget revisions were approved. Erroneous assessments as presented by the Assessor for Francis Raynor, Joan Nichols, and Lois A. Harmon were approved. The appointment of Ralph E. Davis as administrator for the estate of Kerry Duane Davis, deceased, was approved. A Waiver of Financial Statement for the estate of James Robert Hutchinson, deceased, was approved. A Final Settlement Report for the estate of Roger Glen Mullins, deceased, and the release of Alma Mullins as Administratrix were approved. The appointment of Wayne King as Fiduciary Commission for the estate of Harlan Mark Taylor, deceased, due to the death of Glen Sutton, Fiduciary Commissioner, was approved.
A motion to appoint Jason Hubbard as a member of the Clay County Parks and Recreation Board for an unexpired term ending July, 1, 2020, was approved. A list of real estate purchased for the state of West Virginia, sold to individuals, and redeemed prior to sale and suspended by the Sheriff for delinquent 2017 taxes was approved. A motion to approve a repair work order as presented by Thyssenkrupp Elevator Corporation for a pressure relief test on the elevator was approved. The annual inspection cost is $798.
A motion to approve the last day of employment for Cynthia Goodine as a dispatcher for the Clay E911 Communications Center, effective November 8, 2018, was approved. A motion to approve an equipment service contract as provided by Appalachians Office Products for a Savin C4503 copier to be located in the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, effective November 10, 2018 through November 9, 2019, at the rate of $504, was approved. A motion to approve the Hud-Broadband planning grant request #3 for $7,140 for Design Nine was approved. A request from the Big Otter Girl Scout Troop 51421 to display a Honor and Remember the Flag, which will honor and remember veterans who have fallen during times of war, was approved.
Dates for the 2019 Board of Review and Equalization meeting were set for February 1, February 6, February 11, February 14, and February 20, 2019. All meetings will start at 10 a.m.
