It is always refreshing to see people put their natural talent to work. When you purchase handmade products locally it is not just about buying an item from an individual, but about keeping money in your community.
Mikayla Ramsey has put her dreams into motion, and her bow making business is really starting to take off. From her home in Bomont, Mikayla stays busy raising her children and producing these one of a kind bows. When asked why she had the desire to make bows, Mikayla stated, “We have four girls and I wanted to do something that would allow me to stay home with them, and I was buying bows for them anyways, so I decided to start making them not only for my girls but to sell as well.”
Her oldest, Mylie, wanted scrunchies, so Mikayla asked for a sewing machine for her birthday, which fiancé Donald purchased for her, and it all started from there. She would love to see her little shop keep growing as she adds more products such as blankets, pillows, and memory pillows made from loved one’s shirts. She will soon be adding bell bottom pants and leggings to the list of products available.
“There is nothing like a pleased customer, and I love getting photos of all the little girls in something I made,” says Mikayla.
Mikayla has not only provided local customers with handmade products, she has shipped her creations to California, Missouri, Ohio, and Texas as well.
