Clay Health Care Center in Big Otter, WV is one of 15 facilities owned by American Medical Facilities Management (AMFM). Each year, the AMFM holds their annual golf tournament just outside of Charleston, WV and they usually raise about $30,000 – $40,000 a year from the golf tournament. Each facility owned by the AMFM gets an allotment of the money raised and they get to choose who they donate money to. This year, the Clay Health Care Center gave the Christian Center of Lizemores $1,000 for building purposes. The Christian Center of Lizemores had their food pantry broken into several months back and since then they have received many donations to replenish their food pantry. They have been in their current location for many years and they have been renting the building. They now have their own property and their own building to have the Christian Center and the food pantry that serves around 250 families. The money received will go toward building an add on to the building for the storage of food and other items offered in the Christian Center. The AMFM has given out about $175,000 across the state since they began in 2009.
