On Friday, January 26, at approximately 5:30 a.m., the Clay Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched for a residential structure fire on Maysel Laurel Ridge Road.
Dispatch advised that everyone was out of the residence. Chief Mike Scott was on the scene within minutes and advised that the structure was half involved, and also advised the second engine to hook to a hydrant. Units were on scene for nearly four hours before returning to service. The home was a total loss.
A mud run is scheduled for Saturday, March 10, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., for those injured in the fire. The cost is $25 per vehicle. All drivers and riders must sign a waiver. Those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. There will be a 50/50 raffle, as well.
