Just a short time ago, the new auxiliary gym located between the Clay County Board of Education office and Clay County Middle School was an empty, blank slate.
Now, the facility is looking more like a space that can be used by students for athletic practices. The Omnisports 8.1 Active Plus Sports Flooring was installed by Architectural Interior Products, Inc. and is approved by the West Virginia Secondary Schools Activity Commission (WVSSAC).
Carpentry I students from Clay County High School teacher Brian Holcomb’s class helped prepare the outlying flooring area for painting.
Future activities related to the facility’s completion include installation of fully functional restrooms and portable bleachers, as well as a visit from a State Fire Marshal to ensure safety and determine maximum capacity.
