The public Clay County Commission meeting was held on August 9, 2017. A motion to approve the minutes from the previous meeting was approved.

A motion to approve the bills and purchase orders was presented was approved. A motion to approve a budget revision for the Sheriff-Treasurer office was approved. A motion to approve the Erroneous Assessments as presented by the Assessor was approved. A motion for the appointment of Donald Jarvis and Don Gill as Emergency Ballot Commissioners for the October 7, 2017 Special Election was approved. A motion to approve the Democratic and Republican poll workers for the October 7, 2017 special election was approved. A motion to declare that providing electronic voting machines is “impracticable” and will conduct the October 7, 2017 Special Election solely via paper ballots was approved. A motion to reappoint Simpson Neal as board member for the Clay County PSD with term expiring September 1, 2023 was approved. A motion to reappoint Debora Saulsgiver as a board member for the Clay County PSD with term expiring September 1, 2023 was approved. A motion to reappoint Joyce Gibson as board member for the Clay County Parks and Recreations with term expiring July 1, 2020 was approved. A motion to reappoint Mitchell DeBoard as a board member for the Clay County Parks and Recreation with term expiring July 1, 2020 was approved. A motion to reappoint Robert West as a board member for the Clay County Parks and Recreation with term expiring July 1, 2020 was approved. A motion to reappoint Mike Evans as a board member for the Clay County Housing Authority with a term expiring August 9, 2022 was approved. A motion to reappoint Steve Litton as a board member for the Clay County Housing Authority with a term expiring August 9, 2022 was approved. A motion to reappoint Patrick Legg  as a board member for the Clay County Housing Authority with a term expiring July 25, 2022 was approved. A motion to reappoint Elizabeth Hubbard as a board member for the Clay County Housing Authority with a term expiring July 1, 2022 was approved.

A motion to adopt the updated Region 3 Hazard Mitigation Plan was approved. A motion to schedule the Clay County E911 payroll and Ambulance Service payroll to be processed at same time effective August 13, 2017 was approved. A motion to approve Resolution No. 14 authorizing payment of invoices relating to design, construction and other services for the Pack Fork and Independence Road water line extension project was approved. A motion to approve development of an Elk River access site behind Clay E911 Center and Courthouse was approved.
