The Clay County Commission met on July 12, 2017.
A motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting was approved. A motion to approve the bills and purchase orders as presented was approved. A motion to approve the erroneous assessments as presented by the assessor was approved. A motion to approve budget revisions for the following: general county fund and coal severance fund was approved. A motion to approve the appointment of Pamela Dorsey, administratrix of the estate of Justin Benjamin O’Brien, deceased, was approved. A motion to approve the appointment of Mary A. Marks, administratrix of the estate of Jackie Lee Watkins, deceased, was approved. A motion to approve the request of waiver of final settlement for the estates of Rebecca Lurlene Doss, Lloyd Dayton Nichols, Terry Dean Traub, Sr., and Larry Crawford Truman, Sr., deceased, was approved. A motion to appoint Wayne King as fiduciary commissioner for the estate of James A. Duffield, deceased was approved.
A motion to approve issuance of salary checks for county employees for fiscal year 2017-2018, as long as each elected official has sufficient funds in their budget was approved. A motion to hire Thomas Mullins as a part-time, as needed ambulance driver at the rate of $8.75 per hour without benefits, was not approved. A motion to hire Brittany Stone as a part-time, as needed EMT-B at the rate of $9.75 per hour without benefits, was approved. Employment is pending successfully completing a background check and drug screening. A motion to accept the resignation of Tyler Caruthers as a Deputy Sheriff effective June 30, 2017, was approved. A motion to accept the resignations of Jordan Brown and Michelle Morton as dispatchers for the Clay E911 communications center was approved.
