The Clay County Board of Education met on Monday, July 10, 2017. A motion to approve the agenda was approved.

A motion to approve the minutes from the previous meeting was approved. A motion to approve the payment of the current bills was approved. A motion to approve increased receipts and transfer of funds within the budget was approved. A motion to approve the purchase of uniforms for bus operators in the amount of $175.00 for each driver for the 2017-2018 school year was approved.

A motion to approve the employment of Kari Osborne as multiple disabilities resource teacher at Clay Elementary School, pending certification, was approved. A motion to approve the resignation of Leanna Graham as art resource teacher at Clay Elementary School, effective immediately, was approved. A motion to approve the classroom teacher reassignment of Jamie McDonough from music resource teacher at Clay Elementary School to art resource teacher at Clay Elementary School was approved. A motion to approve Anatlia Williams as a volunteer band assistant auxiliary coach (majorette and flag corp) at Clay County High School, pending WVSSAC training, was approved. A motion to approve the overnight/out of county stay for the Clay County High School band students and chaperones to attend band camp at Holly Gray Park in Flatwoods, with Clay County Schools to provide transportation and the cost of a cook, was approved. A motion to approve the resignation date change for Anita Stephenson from November 30, 2017, to effective immediately was approved.
