The Clay County Ag Fair Queen for 2018 is Miss Brooklyn Gould.
Brooklyn Gould is the daughter of Brian and Christie Gould of Clay, and granddaughter of Clinton and Beverly Nichols of Procious, Chuck and Joyce Drake of Grannies Creek, and Doye Gould of Clay. She is a senior at WVU, majoring in Special Education, and is a member of the Phi Sigma Theta National Honor Society. She’s been involved in the Agriculture Youth Fair since she was eight years old. This will be her last year participating in the fair.
Brooklyn says “Farming is a family tradition that all of my family has enjoyed.” She enjoys working with her animals, planting and harvesting the family garden, and putting up hay. Brooklyn states, “It’s always an honor to represent the fair and I would like to invite everyone to come out and support our local youth, without our supporters this fair would not be possible.”
The Clay Ag Fair will be held this coming weekend at Maysel Park on July 27 and 28, 2018. The opening ceremony will be at 6:30 p.m. The Market Swine Showings will be on Friday evening. Other animal showings, which include rabbit, goat, chicken, and calf will be held on Saturday afternoon, starting around 1 p.m., and the livestock auction will be held Saturday evening at 7 p.m.
