Preparation for the Clay County Youth Ag Fair is in full swing.
Kids from around the area have been raising swine, beef, rabbits, chickens, lambs and goats to show in the upcoming fair. Maysel Park will be full of animals being groomed and trained to show in late July.
Local youth will participate in the fair on July 26 and 27 and auction off their animals to businesses and individuals. This is a great way to get kids involved in farming, be competitive, have fun, and learn different aspects of the farming process.
In preparation for the Ag Fair, you can also enter your child in the 2019 Clay County Agriculture Youth Fair Queen’s and Children’s Pageant. This pageant will take place on Saturday July 20, 2019, with registration at 1p.m. The pageant will start at 2 p.m and take place at the Clay Nutrition Center (between Go-Mart and King’s Wrecker Service).
