Clay County CERT is an all-risk hazard training group where people learn a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where citizens may initially be on their own and their actions can make a difference.

This training is designed to help you protect yourself, your family, your neighbors, and your neighborhood in emergency situations.

While people will respond to others in need without training, one goal of the CERT program is to help them do so effectively and efficiently without placing themselves in unnecessary danger.

CERT is a great way to gain knowledge and prepare for the unexpected.  You may never use the skills gained, but being prepared and having the skills could be a life saver in an emergency situation.

This past summer the CERT program completed a project called “Paint-A-Hydrant.”  CERT provided all materials to the public, including paint, brushes, and any other supplies to paint worn down fire hydrants in Clay.  Here we are showcasing some of the individuals that participated in this event.
