The Josie Music Awards are the largest independent artist awards show globally. Nominees go through a lengthy review process, including review by a panel of music industry professionals.
These professionals reviewed over 23,000 artists of all genres, and selected the official nominees based on their talent, skill, material, professionalism, and other traits.
Nicholas County singer and songwriter Joanna Young is among the few that have been selected for the 2019 Josie Music Awards. Joanna started her career around the age of two by singing in her church and at family events, and over the years has performed all across the state of West Virginia as well as the southeast. She has performed with multiple artists including West Virginia’s very own Adairs Run, who was recently on the County Music Show “Real Country,” County Music Legend Daryle Singletary, and more.
In January of this year, she released her debut ep, “Joanna Young The EP” which can be streamed on all digital platforms, including Apple Music and Spotify. Young will travel to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee at the end of September to attend the 2019 Awards Show at the famous Dollywood Celebrity Theater. Regardless of the outcome, Joanna says that she is humble and blessed to even be considered among the best independent artists in the world, and is proud to represent the state of West Virginia.
