Fashion has always been a passion for Bejay Bryant. Thinking outside the box and creating one-of-a-kind outfits is something Bejay has done for the past several years in the annual ReFashion show held in Charleston.
The Recycling Coalition of WV Inc. urges participants to put their creative minds to work and create an original outfit from recycled items. Competitors use their imagination to create an outfit, from high fashion to cosplay or a science fiction theme, made from recyclable or reused materials.
This 17th annual event was held on Nov. 23 and was broken down into 13 and under and 14 and older categories, based on the age of the designer. Categories to be chosen from were; Cosplay Comic-Con Challenge, Charleston Town Center Challenge, Newspaper Challenge, and General Theme.
Bryant participated in The Charleston Town Center Challenge: Garments and/or costumes made with reused or recyclable items found in the mall food court, such as: cups, bags, apparel tags, hangers, garment bags, store promotional materials, broken jewelry, etc. Where she walked away with the first place title in the 14 and older age division.
