The park at Big Otter Clinic, known as the Boggs Farm Nature Trail, has been the home for many folks who just like to get out and take a walk and relax.  The park has all the attributes of a place of peace and tranquility and is being improved on constantly.  Through grants and volunteers and those who truly care about an individual’s spirit and well being, this park is quickly becoming the place to come and unwind.   People from all over have treaded on its beaten path but something was missing; this was supposed to be a place for all people to come and enjoy its ambiance no matter your situation in life.  Through funding from the Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation, the walking path is now paved and more accessible for the handicapped to enjoy the trip around the path.  Terrence Thomas of All Pave Services did the work and had to rig up a special piece of equipment just for this particular job.

This past Saturday the now annual Breast Cancer walk was held.  Many people came from all seasons of life and enjoyed the walk just before the wind blew and the rains came.  The weather didn’t dampen the spirits of anyone and all had a great time regardless of how many canopies were destroyed.  The path, now with wheelchair access, is a place for everyone to share, commune with nature or just shoot the bull with a neighbor.  It is a nature walk for the heart and soul with no pause in progress and development and attaches its grasp to all who interact with it.  So, if you feel the need to take a break from the everyday, come sit at the park or travel the trail and watch the world go by.
