Bigfoot!!!

It’s official. A Bigfoot sighting has occurred in Clay County somewhere between Ivydale and Duck along the Elk River Trail!  Yes, that’s right, Bigfoot. The 21st Century Learning summer enrichment wood carving class finished up their rendition of Bigfoot, and he was donated to the Elk River Trail to be displayed for all to see.  He is 10.5 feet in height and near 1800 pounds of pure big foot.  The kids did a great job carving in 90 plus degrees to get him finished before summer enrichment ended.  McKenzy Taylor, Dennis Mullins and Jaelyn Murphy worked on the project and watched him go from a 2100 pound pile of hemlock to something they could be proud of.  Many have already located Bigfoot; it’s not an easy task but well worth the effort.  Not only is the trail one of the most scenic places but it now has an added attraction.  Congratulations to these student who completed the mammoth statue, we can’t wait to see what you do next summer to top this one.  Thanks goes out to the 21st Century Learning and Crystal Gibson for funding the summer enrichment activities.  Your support of our youth is much appreciated; they are the future!
