It is almost time for the annual Clay County Golden Delicious Festival Quilt and needlework show. Registration for the show will be September 13, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jubilee Mountain Church at 321 Main Street, Clay, WV. Entries must be presented at this time.
The quilt categories are: Ran made, hand and machine made, machine made, stamped, and baby. Quilts entered in these categories will be judged. Ribbons and permissions will be awarded for best of show, first, second and third place in each category and people’s choice.
Heritage is an additional quilt category. These entries will not be judged, but can be voted on for people’s choice. This category includes any quilt previously entered in the Clay County Golden Delicious Quilt and Needlework Show and treasured and love family heirlooms.
Entries will be accepted from present to previous Clay County residents.
Needlework categories are: cross-stitch, embroidery, knitting crochet and miscellaneous needlework. Each entry will be judged and first, second, and third place ribbons will be awarded in each category.
All entries in the quilt and needlework show will be eligible for the people’s choice ribbon and the handmade quilt rack donated by the Clay County Bank. The public is invited to vote for their favorite entry.
The show will be open to the public Thursday September 14, from 12 noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday, September 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Entry forms will be available at the Sheriff’s Office, The Fabric and Gift Shop, and at the time of registration.
