When you walked through the doors of Big Otter Elementary for the Winter Wonderland Ball, it was like a scene from a fairytale with lights, music, and glamour.
Kandy Dennison and volunteers worked tirelessly pulling off such a big event. Parents were blown away by the transformation. Little girls from all over the county dressed in their favorite ball gowns and danced the night away with their dads, uncles, and heroes.
They were served a catered meal and cupcakes of their choice as they worked up an appetite on the dance floor. The girls were full of excitement as they saw all of their friends in their beautiful dresses. One father said, “This was like stepping into a real life fairytale.”
Dennison would like to thank Faith Missionary Baptist Church for the donation and preparation of the food, Adam and Amanda Brown for the music, and Allen Tanner for being the MC for the night. She also thanks Tasha Wray for making the keepsake corsages, Clarissa Hanshaw and Cassie Boggs for their planning help, and Appalachian Construction and Home Improvement for their donation of the cupcakes. Without the support of everyone involved this event couldn’t have been possible. Preparations for next year’s event are in full swing, with plans of making this an annual event for the young ladies of Clay County.
Each princess that attended the ball received a commemorative tiara and corsage with a charm attached to remember their special day made by Shay Edgar, owner of Hand Stamped Designs.
