Changing the venue of the Golden Delicious Golf Tournament did not alter the outcome as Tyler West and Joey Bowery still managed back to back victories in the two-man scramble tournament on Monday, Sept. 19. The closing of the Sandy Brae Golf Course at Amma, was the reason the annual tournament had to be moved to the Sleepy Hollow Gold Club in Hurricane, WV. Fifty-two golfers participated in this year’s tourney at the new venue and enjoyed the day at one of West Virginia’s finest golf courses. West and Bowery’s low score of 64 was two strokes better than second place finishers Sidney Crist and Ara Hopkins.
The golfers teed up for the fund-raising tournament to benefit the Clay County High School Golf Team. Tournament organizers would like to thank all the sponsors and the participants for their support of CCHS Golf Team as they look forward to next year’s annual event.
