The CCHS and CCMS baseball and softball teams have been using the break in the weather to hone their skills for this seasons’ games. This season will be fast with a lot of games back to back and very little break in the action. Little League is also gearing up. If you like spring sports, it all begins at home with the CCHS baseball team squaring off against Roane County on Friday night. With this unpredictable weather a few tips are in order. Bring a glove and a ball so if it is cold you can play catch with other parents and stay warm between innings. Butt warmers are always in order early in the season if you sit in the stands. If you’re over 30 years old, don’t stand longer than five minutes at a time or you may acquire lock knee. Don’t catch a foul ball with cold hands. If it happens to be warm, disregard all these thoughts and just enjoy the game. It looks like it will be a great year for spring sports; the talent level of these players is at 100 percent, and it will be well worth your time to be there. This will be the second year for the Mustang baseball and softball teams, but they look like seasoned veterans. There will be plenty of pictures and stories whenever play begins. The players and coaches hope to see you there to cheer them on.
