Due to Veteran’s Day falling on Friday, the regular monthly meeting of the Birch River PSD has been rescheduled for Thursday, November 10, at 9 a.m. at the PSD office in Birch River.
Living Drive Thru Nativity returns–Have you ever wondered what it was like the night Jesus was born? Mid State Church of God, as well as area churches and community members, invite you to take a journey at their Living Drive Thru Nativity. You will experience the wonder of that special night as you drive through the town of Bethlehem and take in the sights and sounds of the very first Christmas. You will be taken through nine scenes from the prophecy of the birth of the Messiah to that solemn night in the manger—a night that gave us the greatest gift we still experience today. The event will feature live animals, as well as a cast of characters portraying those who witnessed the birth of Jesus.The nativity will be open beginning Saturday, December 3, from 6-9 p.m., and Sunday, December 4, from 6-9 p.m. at Holly Gray Park, off Flatwoods Exit 67 on I-79. Visitors will receive a CD that will narrate their journey in the comforts of their own vehicle.Come to witness the greatest gift ever given. The event is free of charge and open to the public. The 33rd annual Arts and Crafts Show will be held Dec. 2-3 at Nicholas County High School in Summersville. On Friday Dec. 2, the show will be open from 6:30-9:30 p.m. On Saturday, Dec. 3, it will be open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. There will be over 100 booths, and admission is by donation. There will be hourly door prizes with a grand prize of $100, drawing at 2 p.m. Saturday. Must be present to win grand prize.
