A sudden power outage at lunchtime on Wednesday left many homes and businesses in the dark for several hours. Around 800 people were without power until late Wednesday evening after equipment at American Electric Power’s substation caught fire. Crews repaired the problem and restored electricity to much of the county before nightfall.
