The Panthers played a whale of a game against the tough Pirates of Fayetteville on Thursday night. In boys’ basketball, it is nonstop action from the opening bell to the final whistle. The Panthers came out swinging – the new players on the team were out to prove they belong on the courts. The Panthers trailed the Pirates most of the game and were playing catch up basketball. The Panthers got it close at times but couldn’t seem to get the momentum to roll their way. They got plenty of looks at the hoop but couldn’t get the ball to fall. The final score was Clay 47, Fayetteville 66. Noah Taylor was top brass in the shooting with 12 points in the game, followed by Reece Nichols with 9 points. The Panthers will be back in action for two home games, the first will be Tuesday night when they play host to Nicholas County and once again on the 29th against South Harrison. Try to get out and enjoy a game, you will be glad you did.
