Well, the Panther wrestling team has done it again at the Buffalo Putnam Barn Brawl tournament held at Buffalo Putnam High School. Twelve teams went head to head, and the Panthers brawled their way to the top, placing first. This is the first time in a long time that they have earned the top spot in a tournament. Wrestling is a tough sport and not cut out for the faint at heart, and the wrestling program at CCHS suffered a shortage of wrestlers. This year is no exception. Even with the new wrestlers that have come up from the CCMS program, the Panthers still don’t have a full team. However, some of the weight classes that were void last year are filled now. The new wrestlers have settled in and made themselves at home on the Panther team and are kicking some royal butt. Brandon White was master of the mats – his hard hitting, in your face style of wrestling went undefeated once again. Ryan Stewart and Brandon Stutler also went undefeated. The rest of the team did a fine job of keeping the Panther rough and tough team tradition alive. Congratulations to the Panther wrestling team on a fine tournament finish. They will not see action again until after the first of the year at the Pat Vance Invitational.
