Carlie Roat with the dig against Hoover.

by Allen Hamrick
The Lady Panther Volleyball team travelled to Charleston to take on Charleston Catholic and Hoover on Tuesday night.  It was a rough outing for the Lady Panthers, as nothing seemed to go their way.
Going up against Charleston Catholic, the Lady Panthers looked like their heads were not in the game. The Ladies played well in the first game, but in volleyball mistakes will kill you.  he Lady Panthers lost both games to Catholic and settled in to play the Lady Huskies of Hoover.
The Lady Panthers won one and lost one, taking it to the third game, but again mistakes will hurt you, and in the third game the Lady Huskies beat the Lady Panthers.
The Lady Panthers brought their game to the home court on Thursday to play Chapmanville and Nicholas County. This time, it was all Lady Panthers. Very few mistakes were made, and they beat Chapmanville and Nicholas County 2-1 in both matches.
The Lady Panthers are starting to get their game on for the rest of the season. They have always been tough to beat and the season is early. They travelled to Nicholas County to play in a tournament on Saturday which had 10 teams.
The Lady Panthers,  for some reason, were placed in a tough pool consisting mainly of AAA teamswhile the other AA teams were in another pool. The Lady Panthers  had a tough time and were beat out.  Some say it was an unfair placing for the Lady Panthers. However, that being said, it doesn’t matter – the Lady Panthers have the talent to sweep the floor with anybody they play when pitted against a school that is equal to them.
The Lady Panthers will be back at home against Webster and Gilmer on Thursday night, game time 6 p.m.
Come out and support the Lady Panthers.
