The Lady Panthers split their games this past week. The week started out a tough foot going up against Roane County because of the long standing rivalry and because Sarah Boggs was out on the injured list. It was a wild game for sure – the Lady Panthers took to the floor and never looked back as they rolled over the Lady Raiders. The Lady Panthers never lost the lead during the game and much of that can be attributed to rebounds and never giving the Lady Raiders a second glimpse of the basket. That being said, Makayla Horrocks did double digit duty under enemy boards for the Lady Panthers getting a whopping 13 defensive rebounds and adding one more offensive for a total of 14 and also had eight points to put icing on the cake. Summer Alley was bombing the shots setting the pace for the game, ending up with 16 points and eight rebounds. The final score was Lady Panthers 60, Lady Raiders 43. They kept their game on the road and took on the Lady Highlanders of Webster County in what would prove to be a washout; the final score in that game was Lady Panthers 82, Lady Highlanders 32. The next game would give the Lady Panthers a right hook to the chin and a big one at that. They took on the always tough Summers County and just couldn’t stop the offensive push of the Lady Bobcats. Brittany Justice was sinking the baskets for the Lady Bobcats like they were laser guided, and the Lady Panthers had a tough time stopping it. When the basketball stopped bouncing, it was the Lady Bobcats on top by the score of Lady Panthers 59, Lady Bobcats 97. The season rolls on though, and it’s time to shake it off and get back to business. The Lady Panthers will be at home this week hosting the Lady Grizzlies with a game time of 7:30PM.
