On Sept 21, 2013, sixteen graduates of the Clay County High School Class of 1948 met in the library of the high school for their 65th class reunion. They came from West Virginia, Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio and South Carolina. Everyone received a blue pen light inscribed with “Clay County High School Class of 1948” along with a 65th Class Reunion booklet containing the addresses and phone numbers of the remaining fifty-one members of the class.
A candlelight ceremony was held for the forty-two graduates that have past-away. Roscoe Bee read their names from the back of the reunion booklet and led a prayer to close the ceremony.
The group then ate with the alumni in the school cafeteria. Everyone had a good time and is looking forward to next year’s reunion. The 66th class reunion will be held on Sept 20, 2014, and will meet in the same place. Hope to see you there.
