By Holly NineThe Clay County Board of Education meeting on Monday, October 10, was full of resignations and new hires.
The resignation of Sara Moore as teacher at Big Otter was approved, effective October 11, 2016. The hiring of Brittany Ramsey as principal at Lizemores Elementary and Michelle Paxton as principal at Clay Elementary was approved. The reassignment of Stacy Marks from first grade at Big Otter to pre-school teacher at Big Otter Elementary was approved. Josie Peck and Mike Mullins were approved as substitute teachers. Kim Workman was approved as fifth grade teacher at Lizemores Elementary School.
The Clay County Student Camp, sponsored by Northgate Church and scheduled for July 16-22, 2017, was approved to use the Clay High facilities.
The board then accepted and approved the resignation of Kenneth Tanner, superintendent of Clay County Schools, effective December 31, 2016. He was then approved as a substitute teacher.
