Thirteen students from Clay Middle School celebrated an academic milestone as they were formally inducted into the Florence Fern Rose Junior Honor Society during a ceremony held on October 29, 2025. The new inductees were recognized for their commitment to the five pillars of the organization: scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. The ceremony marks the highest honor a middle school student can receive for demonstrating excellence both inside and out of the classroom. To be considered for membership, these students must not only maintain a high academic standing but also be involved in service and dedication to their school and the community. The faculty recommends students for induction each school year based on their academics and character.
These students not only excel academically but lead with integrity and have been set apart to maintain the future strength of the school system. During the candle lighting ceremony selected students spoke to those in attendance about the importance of the tenets of the organization, and after a little pageantry, received their certificates. With this ceremony, these students formally accepted the responsibility to uphold the Florence Fern Rose Junior Honor Society’s ideals and purpose. These new members will now move on to plan and be part of projects for the remainder of the school year, and their commitment will make sure that this CCMS Junior Honor Society continues to make a great impact within the school and in the community as well.
