The Lady Panther volleyball season came to a close at the Sectional Championship held in Roane County. However, some of those Lady Panthers are still making headlines.
The season for the Lady Panthers was a tough road, and they finished by fighting until the last point was made. Because of their work ethic on the courts and their tenacity towards greatness, four of the Lady Panthers were recognized and awarded for their dedication to the sport of volleyball.
Lexi Woodyard, one of the hardest hitting players to play the sport and who took each game to a new level, was recognized with the highest award. Woodyard was named to both First Team All State and First Team All LKC. This award is given to those that go above and beyond each and every game they play, and she did just that.
Sarah Boggs, who also played each game like it was a championship game, was awarded Special Honorable Mention All State, and was named to the First Team All LKC. Carlie Roat, with back court and serving skills nearly unmatched in a game, was awarded Special Honorable Mention LKC. Olivia Legg, a newcomer to the Lady Panther team, played the game like a seasoned pro was also awarded Special Honorable Mention LKC.
Congratulations to these players who have proven once again the level of athletes who come from CCHS will give 100 percent to the sport they’re in and will always give the fans their something to talk about.
