The first Board of Education meeting for the month of April was held on Monday, April 11, 2016. The board members approved the agenda, approved the minutes from the previous meeting, and approved the motion to pay the current bills. A motion to approve the school calendar for the 2016-2017 school year was approved. A motion for an overnight trip for the Clay County High School Skills USA students to compete in state competition on April 15, 2016-April 16, 2016 was approved. A resignation from Allen Shaffer as custodian at Clay County High School, effective April 5, 2016 was approved. The board members then proceeded into an executive session to discuss the status of a student from Clay County High School. Upon returning from executive session, the board decided that the status of a student, remaining unnamed, who attends Clay County High School was to be expelled for a one year period. After a 12 month period, a review will take place to determine if the student may attend school for the 2nd semester of the 2017-2018 school year at Clay County High School. The meeting was then adjourned.
