The Clay County Commission met on Wednesday, November 23. The minutes from the previous meeting were approved, as well as the bills and purchase orders. A request of waiver of final settlement for the estates of Terry Allen Triplett and Virginia Mae Hershberger, deceased, was approved. A list of real estate purchased for the state of West Virginia, sold to individuals and redeemed prior to sale and suspended by the sheriff for delinquent 2015 taxes was approved.
The commissioners moved to approve Sis Deboard, Karla Pierson, Lynn Sizemore, Dennis Holcomb, George Workman, Mitch DeBoard, Jason Hubbard and Toby Mitchell as members of the Clay County Unmet Needs/Resource Committee. All were approved.
The polling places for the January 28, 2017, Clay County Board of Education Levy Election was approved. The election will be the last Saturday in January. There will be early voting for the levy vote.
A motion to appoint Donald Gill and Donald Jarvis as emergency absentee ballot commissioners for the January 28, 2017, levy vote was approved as well. A request by Malinda Stewart for Family Health Insurance was approved. The county commission meeting was moved to recess until December 7at 10 a.m. to approve the poll workers for the upcoming levy vote.
