As of Aug. 24, the Small Business Association (SBA) has approved 682 SBA disaster loans totaling $44,207,800.00 across the state of West Virginia. Most of these approvals are for homeowners who are repairing or rebuilding their homes. While this number will continue to rise until well past the deadline, it is important that anyone who has been referred to the SBA from FEMA completes and returns their applications as soon as possible. Failure to complete and return the SBA Disaster Loan Application could stop a survivor’s recovery, and if they are approved for an SBA Disaster Loan they do not have to accept it. The final day for SBA Disaster Loan Applications is September 7, 2016.
In Clay County, the SBA has approved $3,810,200 in disaster loans for survivors.
