William “Billy” Lanham is in jail after being arrested and charged with operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug lab and violating home confinement.
Braxton County Sheriff Eddie Williams sent deputies to Lanham’s residence Friday to conduct a routine home confinement check. When officers Scarbro and Propst arrived at the home, they discovered a backpack containing precursors used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. According to the criminal complaint, statements were taken from another member of the household stating that William Lanham had used the items in the backpack to make meth in an adjacent building. As a result, Lanham was arrested and charged with operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug lab. Alcohol was also found at the home, and Lanham registered a .061 on a preliminary breath test. Using or possessing alcohol is against the orders of home confinement.
Lanham was arrested and charged with both offenses before being transported to Central Regional Jail where he remains under a $100,000.00 cash only bond.
