Elvis Dawson was raising Tamworth pigs on a family owned farm along the 41½ mile marker of I-79. On January 20, 2014 his dream was shattered when he found most of his pigs shot and killed and others seriously wounded. Dawson called 911 to report the crime. State Police Officer Clendenin traveled to the scene, where he took photos of the dead hogs. A statement was taken and an investigation was underway. It appeared the area had been laid out as though the person responsible would return to the scene of the crime. Dawson waited, sure enough, that night Stephan Robinson of Cross Lanes arrived back on the scene. Trooper Clendenin was called back to the scene where Robinson admitted to shooting the hogs thinking they were feral hogs. Stephan Robinson was charged with five felony charges of cruelty to animals.
