It was an up and down week for sports in this county. First up was the JV Panther team as they hosted the travelling Valley team. The JV team took it to the streets and fought it out with a great defense and offensive power. The boys defeated Valley 24-0 when the smoke finally cleared. This was a nice victory leading into the varsity game against Calhoun. Speaking of which, after the defeat at the hands of the Ravenswood Red Devils, there was no way the Panthers would go down again at the hands of devils, namely the Calhoun Red Devils. The Red Devils of Calhoun didn’t know what hit them; the Panthers turned on the fire on a cold rainy evening and iced the Red Devils hopes of a win. It was some of the hardest hitting of the year with pinpoint accuracy on the offense in their last home game of the season, finishing with a score of 38 to 14. They will be on the road in Webster to take on the tough Highlanders this week. Come out and cheer them on to a 6-4 season.
