It was the LKC Championship Tournament at Ritchie County High School this past Saturday. The Panther wrestling team placed 4th overall against some tough, tough competition. However, coming out as LKC Champions were Brandon White and Tyler Stewart. Brandon, in the championship once again, dominated the top ranked wrestler in the state in his weight bracket and pinned him within seconds. The irony of this match-up is the opponent that Brandon beat on this day was the same one who broke his elbow last season at the regional competition and kept him out of state competition. So with that being said, retribution is sweet. Congratulations to Tyler Stewart who took his opponent, outscoring him 15-0. Also placing in the tournament were Wyatt Dawson – 3rd, Shawn Mollohan – 3rd, Jack Cummings – 3rd, and Robert Pritt – 4th. Congratulations to the CCHS Panther wrestling team. The Regional Competition will be held on February 22nd and 23rd at Calhoun and will determine who will be going to the state competition. Good Luck to the Panther wrestling team!
